Lawrence Visser blows the whistle in the Champions League, a first in ten years for Belgian arbitration

Lawrence Visser will lead his first Champions League match on Tuesday night in Madrid.

Lawrence Visser, 31, will make his Champions League main official debut on Tuesday as he referees the duel between Real Madrid under Thibaut Courtois and Eden Hazard against Sheriff Tiraspol.

Lawrence Visser is the first Belgian referee to officiate in the Champions League since Frank De Bleeckere in 2011. He will be assisted by Rien Vanyzere and Thibaud Nijssen. Bram Van Driessche has been named by UEFA, the European Football Union, as the fourth official. Slovenian Slavko Vincic arbitrated the duel between the Germans in Leipzig and Club Brugge on Tuesday.

We hope that it will be a match worth putting your bets on with the Meridian platform.
